Typically a classification used for wine, Grand Cru means “great growth” and bottles labeled with this phrase are often considered the finest. We’ve curated these teas into our Grand Cru Collection for a variety of reasons. Some may be first flush, meaning the first leaves plucked at the onset of harvest season; some may come from a particularly special estate. For others it could be the elevation and the age of the wild tree from which the leaves are harvested. What they all have in common is that by some miracle all the elements: the sun, soil, water, air, terroir, and the mastery of the tea maker combined in harmony to create a truly exceptional tea.
